Our Story
Hey there! I'm Thais, the founder behind it all. For about five years, we've been curating queer events in Boston, moving from one borrowed space to another, and never feeling truly at home. It was time for a change, so there it was.. the dream of a lesbian bar in Boston was born.
Being lifelong Bostonians, we've witnessed our city evolve and grow and we felt it was important for our community to be part of that evolution. And thus, Dani's was born, a lesbian bar in Boston, a space where Queer, Sapphic Women, Trans and Non-Binary members of the LGBTQ+ Boston Community can truly call their own.
Our Name
Visibility holds power. The LGBTQ+ community was forced to hide, remaining invisible to the world for many years, and we are determined to ensure it doesn’t happen again. That's why the word "queer" is a part of the bar's name.
Okey, but why Dani’s? Who is Dani? Well, the bar was actually named after my dog, Dani, in the most lesbian fashion!

Mission Statement
Our mission is clear: to establish a safe space where the queer community not only feels welcome but truly belongs.

Dani's Queer Bar, Boston's only lesbian bar, to open in Boston... Dani’s will be the first lesbian bar to open in the city in decades, but Boston is hardly the only place where such spaces have disappeared. News of the upcoming arrival comes amid a nationwide slump in lesbian bars, of which there were more than 200 in the 1980s and now total fewer than 30.
